Volunteering in the community helped Julia appreciate all that Etown is and also to see the potential for our future. The links below are just snapshots of the projects she has worked on with in addition to previously serving on The News-Enterprise Editorial Board as a community member.
Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland works with over 240 partner agencies through the 42-county coverage area to distribute food to families in need. As Chair of the board Julia is thankful every day that FAKH has the resources to reach the food-insecure in our community. Demand surged with the start of the Covid-19 pandemic and resurged after the deadly tornados hit 15 of the counties we serve in December 2021. Thanks to the huge effort of our Executive Director and staff, distributions have continued throughout each crisis.
